I like to spend my free time singing, playing guitar, gardening, baking, site-seeing, hiking, reading, scrapbooking, playing games, and watching old movies. I love seeing students engage in the Christian culture here by sharing their faith through kindness or witnessing with others about the Gospel. I’m so blessed to be a part of the LCS community it’s exciting to provide a cultivating environment of growth and learning and bear witness to students actively seeking the Lord in their personal lives. I attended a Christian school as a child and my own teachers had a huge impact on my life, not only through academic teaching but through speaking truth and love into my life through their example and relationship with me. I began working at LCS in 2020, and worked for nine years prior to this as an elementary educator. I nervously asked someone if I should stand guard and watch the bags while kids were in chapel, and I was told no. I will never forget my first day at LCS: backpacks were piled together in the commons and students just left their bags, phones, car keys, wallets, computers, school work, and personal items there while they walked into chapel. I love the community and sense of belonging at LCS. I enjoy completing house projects as I am constantly learning how to do something new. I have been here 17 years, all three of my kids go here, my wife substitutes as the school nurse on occasion, and we are all so thankful that God has placed us here. When I decided to become a school teacher, I told others that I would never teach in a Christian school, but God had different plans. I grew up in a Christian school in northern Virginia. I love that at LCS I am challenged professionally and spiritually through my work. I felt a calling to help foster a positive foundation for lifelong learning in children. I always loved school and looked up to my teachers. I knew that I wanted to be an elementary teacher since I was in first grade. My deep hope is that my students would embrace all of life and learning as a journey towards knowing, loving, experiencing, and serving God.
